The day included informational talks on environmental issues, a guided tour of Noel\u2019s facilities related to environmental initiatives, and an excursion to the Begud\u00e0 wetlands.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"6584\" data-end=\"7161\">The program featured several \u201cquick talks\u201d in the morning and afternoon to facilitate attendance for all interested employees, delivered by the company\u2019s sustainability and environmental technicians. V\u00edctor Llosa, Sustainability Technician at Noel, opened the day with a session explaining the company\u2019s commitment to sustainability, focusing on the environmental axis of Noel\u2019s 2023\u20132025 Sustainability Strategy. Then, Francesc Pou, Noel\u2019s Head of Environment, addressed the economic impact of biodiversity loss in the session \u201cHow does biodiversity loss affect your salary?\u201d.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"7163\" data-end=\"7601\">Meanwhile, David S\u00e1nchez, Energy and Compliance Technician at Noel, discussed energy alternatives in the talk \u201cPhotovoltaic energy and batteries: the alternative to a future without fossil fuels\u201d. Finally, Cristina Burgos, Environmental Technician at Noel, highlighted the importance of recycling to generate a positive impact in the session \u201cRecycle with impact: small changes, big results\u201d, which also included a participatory workshop.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"7603\" data-end=\"7962\">In addition to these \u201cquick talks\u201d, Noel employees were able to learn first-hand about key infrastructures of the company from an environmental perspective during the guided tour \u201cDiscover Responsible Noel\u201d, such as the water purification area, cogeneration plant, air condenser park, waste management area, wastewater treatment plant, and biodiversity zones.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"7964\" data-end=\"8389\">An excursion to the Begud\u00e0 wetlands, located very close to Noel\u2019s headquarters, was also organized. This activity, guided by Francesc Pou, aimed to raise awareness about the importance of preserving the biodiversity of the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park while also promoting healthy habits. The Begud\u00e0 wetlands area is the result of an environmental restoration project in which Noel actively participated two years ago.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"8391\" data-end=\"8883\">\u201cAt Noel, we understand sustainability as a key strategic pillar, and we work every day to reduce our environmental footprint and promote initiatives that amplify our positive impact throughout the value chain. The commitment of the people who make up Noel is essential to continue moving towards a more sustainable business model, and that\u2019s why activities like these are so important to keep us on this path,\u201d said Jordi Port, Corporate Director of Communication and Sustainability at Noel.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"8885\" data-end=\"8925\">\n<p data-start=\"8885\" data-end=\"8925\"><strong>Sustainability as a cross-cutting pillar<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"8927\" data-end=\"9326\">This type of initiative reaffirms Noel\u2019s commitment to sustainability as part of its 2023\u20132025 Sustainability Strategy and its dedication to integrating sustainability into all its operations and decision-making processes. The strategy includes more than 150 actions based on three key pillars: people, the environment, and society, all under the umbrella of sustainable culture and good governance.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"9328\" data-end=\"9935\">In this way, Noel implements measures aimed at improving the company\u2019s processes and efficiency in the use of resources. Among them, it is worth highlighting the 45% reduction in water consumption per ton produced over the last five years, from 4.69 m\u00b3 in 2018 to 2.55 m\u00b3 in 2023, thanks to the implementation of advanced technologies and water reuse systems.
