  • The group reaches record revenue of €727 million, representing 9.5% growth compared with the previous year
  • Meat products remain the main business driver, with sliced cooked ham particularly prominent, where the company has reached a 23.9% share of the domestic market, consolidating itself as the sector’s fastest-growing manufacturer
  • Internationalisation remains a strategic pillar and exports already account for approximately 50% of total revenue
  • During the last financial year, the company invested €28.3 million in structural, operational, technological and environmental improvements

Noel, one of the leading food groups both nationally and internationally, headquartered in Sant Joan les Fonts, Girona, closed the 2025 financial year reaffirming its strength within the agri-food sector, posting record turnover of €727 million and a production volume of 134,848 tonnes, representing increases of 9.48% and 6% respectively compared with the previous year. These results confirm the success of the company’s strategy, based on the strength of its meat division — the main pillar of its economic activity — combined with a clear commitment to innovation and diversification into other food categories, as well as a firm international vision.

In the words of Albert Boix, co-CEO of Noel, “2025 was a year in which we continued to consolidate our business model, resulting in an excellent performance from the meat division, the engine of our business, as well as growth in foreign markets, which now account for approximately half of our turnover”. Xavier Boix, also co-CEO, adds that “based on a philosophy of constant innovation and with an eye on the future, we continue to drive strategic diversification projects to develop new food categories and bring them to the whole world”.

Founded in 1940, the company’s roots lie in a small butcher’s shop in Olot and, since then, it has never stopped growing with a clear purpose: to sustainably promote the development of people through food. Today, Noel remains one of the leading names in the agri-food sector, led by the fourth generation of the Boix-Bosch family, with a workforce of around 3,000 employees, 16 production centres across Spain and operations in more than 60 countries.

Leaders in the meat sector and international presence

The meat division continues to represent the group’s core business, with special relevance in cooked products, where it has continued to grow in the domestic market, reaching a sliced cooked ham share of 23.9% in 2025, up from the 22.7% achieved the previous year. This leadership is also reflected in consumer trust: according to the recent Brand Footprint 2025 report — the sector’s leading study based on household purchasing habits, produced by the consultancy Worldpanel by Numerator (Kantar) — Noel ranks within the Top 50 most-chosen FMCG brands in Spain, specifically in 32nd position, moving up six places from the previous year.

In geographical terms, Spain continues to lead the company’s sales with turnover of €380 million, a 10.1% increase over 2024. In parallel, the company is strongly reaffirming its global expansion strategy and, currently, exports already generate approximately 50% of total revenue, with the European market playing a key strategic role in this international drive.

Investment with a vision for the future

To support and consolidate the development of its activity, Noel has allocated a total of €28.3 million to various projects aimed at boosting its production capacity, optimising operational processes and taking a significant step forward in digitalisation and sustainability.

Among the main investments are an automated line to produce new snacking formats presented in pots, and equipment for environmental management such as the construction of two new water treatment plants — one at the group’s main plant in Sant Joan les Fonts and the other at El Cierzo, the cured-meats plant the company operates in Teruel.

Furthermore, this long-term outlook has been directly complemented by investments in research, development and innovation (R&D&i), and by the rollout of Industry 4.0 technologies across Noel’s various production plants. One example is the digitalisation project at the cutting plant in Olot, aimed at moving towards a system that enables integrated process management, greater product traceability and real-time data access, for faster and more accurate decision-making.

Finally, this year’s growth has been reinforced through key inorganic operations, such as taking a stake in the Ávila-based family firm Garrudo Benito — a strategic step to strengthen the group’s presence in the premium Iberian ham and cured-meats segment — or the acquisition of Ramadera Welfare, a company dedicated to pig breeding and fattening, through which the company continues to expand its presence in the primary sector, thereby guaranteeing full traceability and the highest standards of nutrition, genetics and animal welfare, from the outset.

Business diversification

In parallel, Noel has continued to strongly drive its strategy to establish itself in new food categories. Together, these business divisions generated total turnover of €70.2 million during 2025, a 96.7% increase compared with the 2024 financial year. This commitment is particularly marked by the contribution of investee companies such as Tap Tap Food and The Juicy Group, focused on creams, gazpachos and sauces, and cold-pressed vegetable juices respectively; as well as, in the ready-meals sphere, Global Art Cooking, the company set up with renowned Catalan chef Nandu Jubany and focused on manufacturing premium croquettes and cannelloni.

In this regard, the company has made an additional investment effort in diversification projects, allocating €16 million mainly to two major operations: on the one hand, the launch of a new Global Art Cooking plant in Vic and, on the other, the expansion of Tap Tap Food’s facilities in Sant Joan les Fonts — Spain’s leader in the manufacture of refrigerated vegetable creams — which will allow it to triple production of creams and sauces to respond, above all, to strong demand from international markets.

A model centred on people, the environment and society

With more than eight decades of history, Noel reaffirms its commitment to leadership guided by responsible and sustainable growth. This is a commitment inherited from the family legacy, which has always safeguarded a corporate culture founded on values such as quality and food safety, innovation, proximity, commitment and passion. Along these lines, the company structures its sustainability strategy around three main pillars: people, the environment and social contribution, with the firm aim of generating a positive impact across the entire value chain.

In the area of people, the company works to foster a safe, inclusive working environment that encourages both the professional and personal growth of its teams. Among the most notable milestones of this latest financial year are obtaining the Verified Pay Gap certificate from AENOR, which certifies pay equity and equal opportunities between men and women; the opening of La Cantina, a corporate restaurant designed to offer balanced menus prioritising local products to employees, thereby promoting their wellbeing in the workplace; and the Great Place to Work recognition, which consolidates the company as an environment of workplace excellence based on the high degree of trust and satisfaction of the people who are part of it.

Regarding the environment, concrete measures have been driven to minimise the impact of its activity on the surroundings. One of the most important milestones achieved has been reducing water consumption per tonne of product produced by more than 25% over the 2020–2025 period. As for the application of eco-design criteria, over the past five years the company has managed to eliminate 329 tonnes of plastic from the market, and now uses 50% recycled plastic in its packaging. In addition, the company continues to work on reducing its carbon footprint and adopting renewable energy, notably achieving a 6.7% reduction in energy consumed per tonne produced, as well as joining the Lean & Green project — a European initiative promoted in Spain by AECOC to encourage more sustainable logistics — through which it has committed to reducing its emissions by 20% over five years.

Regarding social action, Noel continues to promote its commitment to the community, mainly through the work of its two foundations. First, the Albert Bosch Foundation, which promotes research and the search for medical and surgical solutions for cancer, especially childhood cancer, and which over its twenty-year history has allocated more than €2.3 million to various research projects in this field. During 2025, the foundation reached a key milestone with the completion and inauguration of its ambitious “Realitat millorada” (Enhanced Reality) project, which enabled the comprehensive refurbishment of the Paediatric Oncohaematology Area at the Vall d’Hebron University Hospital in Barcelona — a project with a total budget of €7.4 million, achieved in collaboration with the Aladina and Small foundations. Looking to the future, the entity has already launched its next major challenge, the “El fitxatge que ens falta” project, aimed at creating a new high-performance research unit at the Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) to accelerate the development of new drugs for paediatric cancer patients.

On the other hand, the Maria Rosa Sans Foundation supports talented young people from La Garrotxa through grants that enable them to access and pursue university studies, without financial factors being an obstacle.

Finally, in 2025 Noel was also involved in a total of 205 initiatives, both cultural and sporting, across the region. This firm social commitment has been recognised with the Espiga Trophy, awarded by the Farinera Girona Foundation to companies that integrate social responsibility into their activity; and the Mercè Sala award, granted by the Factor Humà Foundation, which recognises companies that promote a growth model combining commitment to people, innovation, professionalisation, roots in the local area and social return.
