Sustainability
OUR COMMITMENT
At Noel we are firmly committed to sustainability. Since our origins, we promote actions that aim to generate a positive impact on both the environment and people.
In 2015, the international community set out a new roadmap for 2030, approved by the heads of state and government of the member countries of the United Nations. Its most recognised content is the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). The goals cover 169 targets on social, environmental and economic aspects.
At Noel we play an active role in achieving the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). These are the priority in our company and they are defined in our Sustainability Strategy
Sustainability strategy
The target of our sustainability strategy 2023-2025 is to expand our positive impact throughout the value chain and move towards a more sustainable business model.
CORE AREA
The Environment
Our environmental management system sets out the framework to identify the environmental impacts throughout our value chain and integrate the most suitable mitigation and reduction actions.
Every year we check and update the environmental risks and opportunities and analyse how these factors may impact on diverse areas of our business and structure, as well as the climate risks and short and long-term transition risks, up to 2025 and 2040.
Decarbonisation
We are aware of the importance of fighting against climate change and for this reason we will promote the decarbonisation of Noel through the development and implementation of actions that help us reduce the carbon footprint in the three areas.
Emissions reduction plan
Increase in the use of renewable energies, efficient consumption of installations and reduction of greenhouse effect gas emissions.
Decarbonisation plan
Noel company Net Zero.
Mobility plan
Reduce greenhouse effect gas emissions of goods transport and workforce movements.
Circular economy and efficient use of resources
One of the main strategies of the environmental core area is a change of the resource management model and evolution towards the circular economy. This system is based on the idea that all the elements continuously fulfil a function.
Water, as well as being a scarce resource, is a fundamental element for the Noel activity, so managing it correctly is one of our greatest challenges.
Water management
Minimise the risk involved in the water stress situation in the area and which can put the continuity of the activity in danger.
Zero waste to landfill
Reduce the amount of waste generated and, those that are generated, undergo recovery processing to be able to remove their management in landfills.
Hazardous materials
Reduce their use to the bare minimum.
Ecodesign
Increase the environmental sustainability component of packaging.
Management and involvement
Protection of the environment involves a change of mentality of all actors involved, and training and awareness are key aspects. Environmental management must be interdepartmental and have all departments involved.
An important part of the NOEl industrial buildings are located in an area that borders with the La Garrotxa Volcanic Area Natural Park; which is why we assume the commitment to preserving the biodiversity of this territory that characterises us.
Training and awareness
Make the whole workforce aware of the Noel commitment to the environment and get them to make it their own.
Certified management
Receive external recognition for all the work being done on environmental protection which, in turn, facilitates communication of this commitment.
Protection of biodiversity
Collaborate with the protection of the biodiversity in the area closest to the Noel installations.
Other kinds of atmospheric contamination
Minimise the negative impacts that may affect the environment closes to the installations.
