  • 20 supplier companies took part in the event, dedicated to sharing reflections, experiences and common challenges to move towards a more sustainable value chain.
  • Horizon ESG 2026-2028, the company’s new sustainability strategy for the next three years, sets out 43 objectives and more than 260 actions across four areas: environment, people, society and governance.

Noel held the fifth edition of its Supplier Day today, the annual event that brings together the food group’s suppliers to share best practices and progress in sustainability and establish new joint commitments.

The event, held at Noel’s headquarters in Sant Joan les Fonts and attended by representatives from 20 companies, focused on four main areas: the presentation of the company’s new sustainability strategy, Horizon ESG 2026-2028; the presentation of its supplier assessment model, which incorporates sustainability criteria; the sharing of three sustainability success stories; and the presentation of the 2026 Sustainable Commitment Award to one of its suppliers.

The session began with an institutional welcome and the presentation of Horizon ESG 2026-2028 by Jordi Port, Noel’s Corporate Director of Communications and Sustainability. Port explained that this new framework brings coherence and visibility to the sustainability initiatives that the company will promote over the next three years. “Horizon ESG expresses a shared vision for the future, enabling us to continue evolving as a company and creating value for people, society and the environment. The environmental and social challenges facing our sector require us to work together, and collaboration with our suppliers is essential to turning commitments into results,” he stated.

The new strategy comprises 43 objectives and more than 260 actions involving Noel’s different teams and departments. The name “Horizon” reflects this forward-looking approach and the determination to move in a shared direction towards a more responsible and sustainable business model.

Noel’s ESG Assessment Model

Carles Esquena, Noel’s Director of Materials and General Purchasing, then presented the model used by the company to assess its suppliers’ ESG commitment. The questionnaire, comprising 23 questions covering the environment, people, society and governance, makes it possible to assess each company’s progress and identify opportunities for improvement.

Víctor Llosa, Sustainability Technician at Noel, completed this section by presenting and highlighting the United Nations Global Compact’s sustainability training programme. The initiative provides shared tools and criteria to address the sector’s challenges and make joint progress towards a more sustainable value chain. Noel has been a member of the UN Global Compact since 2013, reaffirming its commitment to integrating the initiative’s ten principles on human rights, labour standards, the environment and anti-corruption into its operations, as well as reporting on its progress. In this regard, the company aims to involve 300 of its most significant suppliers in the programme.

Sharing Success Stories

The event also highlighted three initiatives demonstrating how collaboration can generate a positive impact in different areas. Cristina Sanz, Director of the Fundació Albert Bosch, presented the work of this organisation, established by Noel in 2004 to promote research into medical solutions for childhood diseases, particularly cancer. Sanz focused on The Signing We’re Missing, a campaign aiming to raise €910,000 to establish a high-performance research unit at the Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR), which will help accelerate research into new drugs to treat childhood cancer.

Carles Cargol, R&D Director at Alzamora Group, then explained how this industrial group, specialising in packaging, incorporates circularity into product development. With production facilities in Spain, Portugal and the United Kingdom, the company works to provide solutions that meet customer needs while helping to reduce the environmental impact of packaging.

Finally, Jordi Sastres, Commercial Director at Comercial Nonó, explained how collaboration with Noel has driven the electrification of its logistics fleet in recent years. The project has helped improve operational efficiency and reduce emissions, delivering both environmental and economic benefits for both companies.

2026 Sustainable Commitment Award

The event concluded with the presentation of the 2026 Sustainable Commitment Award to Impremta Olser, which achieved a very high and balanced score across environmental, social and governance criteria in Noel’s ESG assessment. The award also recognises an approach to business based on continuous improvement, responsibility and transparency. The evidence provided by the company demonstrates how it integrates sustainability into its management practices and works to create value for the business, people, the environment and society. Jordi Oliveras, Deputy Director of Impremta Olser, accepted the award on behalf of the company.
